Sandro Ruscio has given shape to passionate and evocative themes while collaborating on projects in film, ballet, theater, and concert. This has brought him to explore other musical genres, from the deeply romantic to the freshness of Italian traditional, from the powerful orchestral rhythms of flamenco to contemporary & classical ballet, from theatrical sound effects to animated films.
Throughout this, he has always maintained a great interest in the expressive capability of orchestral music and continues to write purely classical works.
Ruscio has worked with directors Manuel Gomez Pereira, Juan Margallo Rivera, Gabriel Beitía, Susan Bejar, Olga Margallo, and Davide Turotti, Pau Faus, as well as the choreographers Javier Latorre y Concha Jareño.
He composed symphonic music such as “Obertura” from the VII Congreso de Análisis Textual de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Symphony No. 1 “Dea Smarrita“ Madrid 2015), a collaboration that has continued with the second “Obertura” from the VIII Congreso” (Bogotá 2016) and the third “Obertura” in the IX Congreso (Valladolid 2017).
Ruscio trained in Rome in composition, where he also studied conducting (orchestral and choral), guitar, and piano.
He currently lives between Madrid, Rome and Warsaw and collaborates on productions in Italy, Spain, Argentina, China, and Poland.
